Memorial Day, The Zoo and Evan!

This Memorial Day we went to Andrea & Hank's house. We had delicious food (thanks Hank & Andrea) and just enjoyed the holiday together. We finished the day off with homemade ice cream and smores!

We took Maycie-Grace to the zoo on Friday. She noticed a lot more animals this year than last year! Every animal that we visited, she said "Hey!" to them. She still was more impressed with the pictures of the animals than the animals themselves. She kept showing us their pictures at each stop. I guess it reminded her of her books. We were also able to watch the Sea Lion Splash Show. I have wanted to see it for years but have never been there at the right time. We walked right up and it was about to start in 5 minutes. It was really cute and you could see the strong bond between the Sea Lion and the trainer. Toward the end, Jeremiah asked if I wanted to leave and start looking around the zoo and I said no because I knew those Sea Lions had worked so hard on their routine and I didn't want to be rude! :) The saddest thing was that I forgot to bring Maycie-Grace's bathing suit so I told her that meant another trip to the zoo, very soon, so that she can play in the bubbles and water. I felt so bad that other kids were playing in water and bubbles and having fun but she seemed content on the carousel! I may even try the camel ride-we thought she would be a little scared this time. I would say she was most excited about the carousel and the rabbit statue!

This past weekend Evan invited Maycie-Grace to swim with him. He is the cutest little thing and I really enjoy getting to spend time with them. Joann and I were great friends before we became mommies but having children the same age only increased that bond. Maycie-Grace and Evan copied each other the whole afternoon!
